Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris PlayStation 4 review- Vic B'Stard's State of Play

Added: 04.01.2015 5:11 | 9 views | 0 comments

Vic B'Stard writes: "Lara Croft is back with another adventure in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, the sequel to 2010s top-down arcade shooter/puzzler Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The absence of Tomb Raider in the title is what separates Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris from the recently rebooted Tomb Raider franchise. Indeed, having Lara dressed in her old trademark blue top and shorts, as well as being voiced by Keeley Hawks who also voiced Lara in Tomb Raider Legend, Underworld and Anniversary would suggest that this is your dads older, more experienced Lara Croft."

Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris Gold Edition (with Season Pass) only £19.95 on PS4

Added: 03.01.2015 17:10 | 7 views | 0 comments

Dealspwn writes: GC are at it again and are the cheapest by over £5 for the boxed Gold Edition of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris on PS4. The chunky box comes with a disc-based version of the game, an artbook, mini Lara figurine, map and the Season Pass. This is much cheaper than it sounds considering the digital game would cost you £15, plus another £8 for the Season Pass. Having a physical version of the game, instead of a download code means you'll have the option of reselling down the line if you'd like. Whether you activate the Season Pass (with two extra tombs to explore) is up to you though. Still not sure? Check out Jon's review of the XO version. Don't forget PS4 fans, this is the only way you'll get to play a Tomb Raider game this year. Damnit Square!

Technology Tell writes, "Thankfully, Guardian of Light got rave reviews and convinced Square the universe was worth visiting again. It is a different universe than the main Tomb Raider games. That lady who began the reboot unsure of herself is nowhere to be seen here. This is the Lara Croft who doesnt flinch when told she has to go toe-to-toe with an ancient Egyptian god."

NDTV Gadgets says: "It might not have the looks of the 2013 reboot had or its deep narrative, but it's an enjoyable little side story that should quench your thirst for raiding tombs until Lara Croft's next main adventure, Rise of the Tomb Raider later next year."

Join us over the next few days as we look back in time at five of the most outstanding years in games. Today, we look back at 1996. In 1996, the industry landscape was forever altered with a handful of game-changing new franchises. It was a golden year for strong leading characters and equally strong new gameplay ideas, both from Japanese and Western studios. Icons that are now household namesincluding Lara Croft and Crash Bandicoot--were born in 1996. It was a good year to be a Mario fan as well, with still-beloved favorites from two branches of the franchise making their debut. Not to mention this was the year the world got Pokémon, a series that would reach dizzying heights of popularity nearly two decades later."
